“A tribute to my mother”

There are a lot of music album launches happening in the city, in recent times. It shows the immense talent and competition that exists among the youngsters to prove themselves better in their own field of excellence. One such example is the recent music launch of a devotional music album by Ms. Divya Nagarajan.

Aayarpadi Kanna is a devotional music album that was recently released in the city by playback singer Shri. P. Unni Krishnan. This album is a maiden venture of Ms. Divya Nagarajan, who is an engineering student from Nanyang University, Singapore. 

Ms. Divya has learnt carnatic music initially from Madurai T.N. Seshagopalan. Later, her guru Mr. K. Sivaraj trained and encouraged her to a great extend which led her to come out with her own album. Speaking on the occasion, Divya said, “I’m extremely happy to get my album released by Unniji and this album is a tribute to my beloved mother, late Mrs. Narmada Nagarajan” she also thanked her dad who actually made it possible for her to come out with her own album. She said, “I think am fortunate enough to get a dad who supported me in all my dreams. Not all get such kind and understandable parents. My mom has always been a great source of inspiration to me and I dedicate this album to her.”

Divya’s Guru, Mr. K. Sivaraj composed the music for the album and the lyrics for all the songs was pen down by Mr. Abirajenthiran. Just after he released the music album, Shri. Unni Krishnan said that this program gave him a feel of oneness and that he’s happy and proud to be a part of it. “There can be no other better thing to be done to a loving mother who was instrumental in one’s musical life. Am so happy for Divya and all I want her to remember is that there is no short cut for music and so considering the heavy competition in the field, I wish her to rise to great heights in future through hard work, sincerity and dedication!”
