Save future with Solar Energy..

Solar Energy is the form of energy which is well known to everybody. It is the only non-polluting energy. It is available in the nature from sun.

Nowadays the availability of fossil fuels is less. Therefore, the price of it is somewhat equal to that of the gold. Fossil fuels will be needed by the common people for their everyday life in many ways like transportation, cooking, steaming, etc. If the people should exist, even the fossil fuels must exist. Therefore, we must not misuse it.

There is another way of saving fossil fuels (i.e.) using the renewable/ non- exhaustible resources like solar energy. There are many advantages in using solar energy in our daily life. It is non-polluting; It saves our money because after the initial investment has been made, the energy from the sun is practically free. But the disadvantage over here is that, the semi-conducting materials are very costly. They are available plenty in nature which does not make us worry for the future, safe to use and is environmental friendly.

As we have advantages, we have disadvantages also. The solar energy gadgets cannot be used during nights or on cloudy days. “But in the latest development, solar cells which can be used for 11 hours at a stretch” says Sales Manager, Solkar Appliances. Therefore, solar cells can be fitted in all the solar appliances so as to work even during nights and cloudy days.  One more disadvantage of using solar energy is that the efficiency of the system also relies on the location of the sun, although this problem could be overcome with the installation of certain components. “In this busy life, we use so much of petrol for our transportation purposes which pollutes our environment. Chennai being a hot city, use of solar vehicle may reduce the pollution level. We have an idea of selling solar car invented by Japan students” he added. “We are using solar water heaters in our house. We are able to save power due to it.” Shawn, a resident in Bangalore.

In a few villages in Rajasthan, the solar street lights are used in dark due to the solar cells present in it which can store solar energy. The solar cookers are also re-modified to make people use it. Electric heaters give shocks sometimes making it unsafe to use. But a solar heater does not give such problem.

Using solar energy to generate electricity is one of the greatest achievements by mankind, and is set for even greater things in the future. This technology is still under process and until a finer solution is found for it, let us make the best use of what is available for us at present. So let us start using the pollution free solar energy and save the essential fossil fuels for our future. “Save oil today or walk tomorrow”

Gray Water Recycling, the next generation process!

Water pollution is a serious problem in India as almost 70% of surface water resources have serious pollution problem and a growing number of ground water resources are already contaminated by various pollutants. In many cases these sources have been rendered unfit for any useful consumption. This deterioration is more apparent in and around the large urban areas. Inadequately treated industrial effluent is finding way in the water sources causing sever contamination beyond repair through conventional means.

Domestic waste-water is also one of the major pollution source causing 14 major river systems getting heavily polluted from 50 million M3 of untreated sewage discharged into them each year. This also causes high incidence of water related diseases. To date, only 14% of rural and 70% of urban inhabitants have access to adequate sanitation facilities. The conventional approach in the segment has been typically of end-of-the-pipe treatment where raw water sent to a water treatment plant, the treatment plant is sent to an effluent treatment plant and then is discharged. The new integrated approach, we are trying to bring in for Water & Wastewater Treatment in association with US Filter is, the raw water is sent to the treatment plant where there is pre treatment, Main treatment and Post treatment. This treated water is sent to an effluent plant and is further treated. There is recycled water which is ready to be used and the sludge is removed from the water. Sigma enterprises and Triveni Group are the two main groups focusing on water recycling. “It is high time water is to be recycled and saved for the future generations” says Mr. Dr.S. Rajesh, CEO of SIGMA enterprises.

The more developments come the better it is for the society to live. To make use with the resources we have is becoming very difficult. “Water recycling has not yet been explained fully and the people have not understood the importance of it because of that”, says R. V. Saraf Director Viraj Envirozing India Pvt. Ltd. GEA designed and built eight (8) drinking water RO plants for domestic use in Chennai and Gujarat, which have been experiencing serious drought conditions for the past 3 years. These residential private plants range from 2,000 to 15,000 GPD, typically averaging about 12,500 GPD. Source water is marginal or unsuitable ground or river water. Most systems have had a two-pass design to achieve recoveries of 80% with typical influent TDS ranging from 2,500 to 4,000 ppm. Permeate quality drinking water is less than 75 ppm TDS and meets WHO drinking water standards.

“A tribute to my mother”

There are a lot of music album launches happening in the city, in recent times. It shows the immense talent and competition that exists among the youngsters to prove themselves better in their own field of excellence. One such example is the recent music launch of a devotional music album by Ms. Divya Nagarajan.

Aayarpadi Kanna is a devotional music album that was recently released in the city by playback singer Shri. P. Unni Krishnan. This album is a maiden venture of Ms. Divya Nagarajan, who is an engineering student from Nanyang University, Singapore.

Ms. Divya has learnt carnatic music initially from Madurai T.N. Seshagopalan. Later, her guru Mr. K. Sivaraj trained and encouraged her to a great extend which led her to come out with her own album. Speaking on the occasion, Divya said, “I’m extremely happy to get my album released by Unniji and this album is a tribute to my beloved mother, late Mrs. Narmada Nagarajan” she also thanked her dad who actually made it possible for her to come out with her own album. She said, “I think am fortunate enough to get a dad who supported me in all my dreams. Not all get such kind and understandable parents. My mom has always been a great source of inspiration to me and I dedicate this album to her.”

Divya’s Guru, Mr. K. Sivaraj composed the music for the album and the lyrics for all the songs was pen down by Mr. Abirajenthiran. Just after he released the music album, Shri. Unni Krishnan said that this program gave him a feel of oneness and that he’s happy and proud to be a part of it. “There can be no other better thing to be done to a loving mother who was instrumental in one’s musical life. Am so happy for Divya and all I want her to remember is that there is no short cut for music and so considering the heavy competition in the field, I wish her to rise to great heights in future through hard work, sincerity and dedication!”
